Amy wears hats from several disciplines that provide a base for her unique understanding of plants as food and medicine. Her training as a slow food Chef and in traditional European herbalism was instrumental in leading her toward the path of clinical nutrition where she was able to combine the techniques and history to develop individualized protocols. Deeply curious about how we become us from the food we ingest, she seeks to follow nutrients from soil to cell and into the soul through evidence found as much in peer-reviewed literature as in the respectful study of ancient healing systems of global indigenous communities. She enjoys relating this gathered information with colleagues and clients in an effort to further the conversation around culinary and medicinal plant use in novel nutrition and herbal phytotherapies.
